Colibri 03

So to write a few words about my other tomos: I have one Tomos 03 aka "colibri" wich have an interesting history. I bought it in the city of Bačko Gradište here in serbia,contacted the owner to do the paperwork and asked him about the engine which is fitted on the moped couse I had never seen anything similar here in serbia(and thats exactly the reason why I bought it). In the far past in yugoslavia were times when "we" had lack of fuel,and the amount of gasoline you could buy was limited,and you could buy it only if you had any motorised vehicle!! So this guy bought this tomos to have right for buying more fuel! (5L for a moped monthly) But its engine was not complete,he went to his friend who had a tomos service and fitted parts from an other engine. That engine was left there (in the service) buy a swedish guy who camed to yugoslavia with his tomos (!!!) and his engine failed here,so he (the swedish guy) get fitted a complete other engine made for the yugoslavian market,and he left his engine and probably some money in exchange for the new engine. So thats why there are some strange cylinder,and "sidecover" on the engine I had never seen on any tomos,its an engine for exlusively the swedish market that wasnt originaly fitted on this moped!

I would like to make this one to be like the models made for the swedish market,there were a few differences but nothing special so its not gonna be an imposible mission. I had never seen before a cilinder like this,nor the ignition cover...and never heard about "stefa" ignition made by the sweden haldex so its some interesting stuff here at serbia. Were there any tomos models fitted with this engine sold on the Nederland market??

Thats a great find you got there. I'm not really familiar with the old tomoses so i don't know if they had the same engines over here.

Thank's mate! Well I had never seen an engine with this termo group on any tomos here in serbia so thats one of the reasons why I think it's an export engine. The other reason is because the guy's from the serbian tomos forum helped me out with this link : http://www.mo-ped.se/tv/tomos66.htm here you can see tomoses with the same engine like mine,and its written on swedish.And the third thing is that I know the history of my moped,the engine is taken from an swedish one But the updating is going to be really slow 'couse it seems like i'm going to be a father (!!!!!) so I pulled the handbrake on wasting money to my hobbis,we need a bigger car !
